Houston Takers News Release
The 3-4 Houston Takers came into Tycoon country with a made up mind that the only way they would leave the Dallas area was with a victory. The game was so intense from jump ball to the final buzzer and the Houston Takers did what they came to do, left with a victory 124-119.
"This is a special rivalry that both teams acknowledge and this game was a proven fact of that. Tonight was special and I only expect it to get better as the season progresses and as both teams play to be the best in the league," stated Larry Leonard owner of the Takers.
Taurean Minor led the Houston Takers with 41 points and 10 assist and Larry Satchell had a solid performance with 15 points and 18 rebounds. Coach Orlando Woolridge was very emotional during halftime while being down by 7. But he ralied the troops and in the second half they applied the defensive pressure and got it done.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
