Dick Tinkham To Be This Week's Guest On Voice America Sports
December 3, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Indianapolis, IN. ABA Co-Founder and Special Counsel Dick Tinkham will be the featured guest this week of Inside the ABA, the one-hour show that airs each week on Voice America Sports at 1pm EST. In addition to his involvement with the current ABA, Mr. Tinkham was also the co-founder of the original ABA, the co-founder of the Indiana Pacers and the lead attorney for the merger of the San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets, New Jersey Nets and Indiana Pacers into the NBA.
Robby Kendall, the show host, talks to Dick about how the fledgling league drew legends like Dr. J, Connie Hawkins, Spencer Haywood, Moses Malone, George McGinnis, David Thompson and help put together the fast-paced rules that revolutionized the professional game. A former athlete and US Marine officer, Dick's stories about the development of the old and the new ABA are interesting, informative and exciting - and in many cases, very funny. To catch the show, visit www.abalive.com and click the Voice America Sports banner at 1pm EST on Thursday or hear a replay on Saturday at 3pm EST on All Access Radio by clicking the banner on the ABA website.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
