FRESNO, Calif. — Are you ready for some Taylor Cup Playoffs hockey? The 2002-03 WCHL Playoffs kick off this evening with defending Taylor Cup Champions the Fresno Falcons meeting the Idaho Steelheads for a pair of games tonight and tomorrow night in Idaho. The series will return to Fresno for the third and fourth games of the series, as well as a fifth game, if necessary.

After the two games in Idaho, the Falcons will return home to greet their fans at a "Title Defense" Playoff Rally on Monday, April 14th from 6-8pm. The rally will be held at the Elbow Room in Fig Garden Village, where fans can enjoy appetizers and drinks while mingling with the Falcons players. Falcons Head Coach Blaine Moore and a few players will address the fans, and all will be available to sign autographs.

The series will return to Fresno beginning on Wednesday April 16th at 7pm, and the first 2,000 fans in the doors will receive a pair of Thundersticks and a "Go Falcons!" cheer card, courtesy of the Old Fresno Hofbrau and the Fresno Bee. Fans will also be treated to the Palace Indian Gaming Center's Human Slingshot during intermission. Friday night's game will begin at 7:30pm, and again the first 2,000 fans will receive a pair of Thundersticks and a "Go Falcons!" cheer card, from the Old Fresno Hofbrau and the Fresno Bee. At intermission, the Falcons will be honoring the Junior Falcons Squirt team, who recently came in 4th at the Northern California playoffs. Fans are encouraged to visit the Old Fresno Hofbrau before and after each game, for food, drinks, and fun!

If a fifth game is necessary, it will be held at Selland Arena at 5pm on Sunday April 20th. The first 1,000 fans will receive a pair of Thundersticks and a "Go Falcons!" cheer card, sponsored by the Old Fresno Hofbrau and the Fresno Bee.
