Titans Win Weekend Finale After Two Tough Defeats

JOHNSTOWN, Penn. - The Titans' battled a roller coaster weekend as the Johnstown Tomahawks threw everything the Titans could handle at them. In the end the Titans were able to hold onto first place in the East Division by four points.

Tommy Horn's first period goal held up for the rest of Friday night's game while the Titans managed to only put up 20 shots against Johnstown goaltender Ryan Glander. He managed to turn them all aside.

So after they were unable to score in a defensive juggernaut on Friday night, the Titans regained their offensive prowess in Saturday's matchup. It also saw newly signed backup Harrison Feeney get his first career NAHL start since joining the team a week earlier as No. 1 goalie Jack Berry remained scratched as he continued to battle a lower body injury.

The Titans got on the board early, just 2:27 into the first period off the stick of Raymond Brice. Then at 13:47, Adam Hascic added a power play goal. This allowed the Titans to take a two-goal lead into the first intermission.

The second period appeared to be headed towards a scoreless one for the first 17 minutes. Then Horn found the net at 17:43 followed by the equalizer with 47 seconds left. That meant the two teams would head into the second intermission tied. Each team also managed just six shots apiece.

Feeney meanwhile finished the game strong despite his counterpart got the best of him. With the two teams unable to score in neither the third period nor the five-minute 3-on-3 overtime. It would have to be decided in a shootout. Feeney was beaten twice on four tries leading to the extra point going to the home team.

It took three and a half rounds and just a goal each, all Johnstown's Adam Pilewicz had to do was score to win the game. He managed to beat Feeney.

Keegan Miller was the only Titan to score in the shootout.

Spencer Wright started two of the three games. Wright finished the series with 63 saves after facing 68 shots and went 1-1-0. He is now 5-3-0 with a .931 save percentage and a 2.28 goals-against average.

The Titans now have an upcoming four-game month of December as they'll be hosting two teams from America's Last Froniter: Alaska. This weekend, the Kenai River Brown Bears will visit Middletown Ice Word with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs the following week.
