TRENTON, NJ (June 16, 2004) - The Trenton Titans announced today that left wing Matt Zultek has agreed to terms for the 2004-05 season. Per club policy the terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The fifth-year pro led the Titans with 35 goals and broke the Titans' record for goals scored in a single season (34), set by Cail MacLean in 1999-00. Healso led the team in points (65) and penalty minutes (217). A force on special teams as well, Zutlek finished second in the ECHL with 17 power play goals.
Originally the 15th overall pick of the Los Angeles Kings in 1997 NHL Entry Draft, Zultek re-entered the draft in 1999 and was selected in the second round by the Boston Bruins. The Missisauga, ONT native signed was sent via trade to the Philadelphia Flyers on February 13, 2001. Over three seasons with the Titans Zultek has 145 points (75g, 70a) in 172 games.
