
Titans Pick up a Win Behind Gerics' Strong Start

The Torrington Titans (2-1) took home a 4-3 victory over the Brockton Rox (1-2) at Fuessenich Park on Saturday.
David Gerics (Pomona-Pitzer) had an impressive outing against the Brockton Rox's lineup. The Rox managed just two hits off of Gerics, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out six during his five innings of work. Gerics got the win and Ray Krieger (Bridgeport) took home the save, throwing in just one inning of relief.
Nick Lamberti (UConn) and Mike Conti (Fairfield) each collected two hits on the night, while Zach Wood (Bryant) had a two-RBI double in the first inning to put the Titans ahead. They would never look back, adding two more runs in the 7th inning.
CJ Dandeneau (UConn) was charged with his first loss of the year for the Rox. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
The Titans are back in action at Fuessenich on Sunday night at 6 p.m. against the Bristol Blues.
