TRENTON, NJ (June 22, 2004) - The Trenton Titans announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Ray DiLauro and rookie forward Vin Hellemeyer for the 2004-05 season.

DiLauro – 6'2", 229 lbs. – played last season with the Columbus Cottonmouths of the ECHL, where he recorded 24 points (9g, 15a) and 31 PIM in 52 games.

"Ray has the ability to generate offense from the blueline," said Mike Haviland, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations. "He brings experience to the table as well and we view him as fine addition to our defense corps.

The third-year pro spent the majority of his rookie season with the Reading Royals, potting 7 goals and 14 assists in 53 games. A ninth-round pick of the Atlanta Thrashers in 1999 NHL Entry Draft, DiLauro played his college hockey with the St. Lawrence University Saints. There, the Bensalem, PA native tallied 43 points over four seasons.

Hellemeyer – 5'9", 175 lbs. – was a four-year letterman at Yale University, notching 32 goals and 39 assists over 110 games.

"We've had a lot of success with our players from Yale," stated Haviland. "We're excited to be acquiring a top notch two-way player."

Prior to his collegiate career, Hellemeyer played for Applecore of the Eastern Junior Hockey League, leading the team in assists (31) and scoring 42 points in 29 games. Hailing from Franklin Square, NY, Hellemeyer was also named to the U.S. Select-17 Team that traveled to Czech Republic in August of 1999.
