Orlando Titans News Release

Trenton, N.J. - Casey Powell and Ryan Boyle scored four goals a piece in the New York Titans 20-13 victory over the Philadelphia Wings on Saturday March 22 at Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ. The Titans are only the second team this season to defeat the first place Wings. The win brings the Titans' record to 6-5.

Ryan Boyle started his four goal night early, notching the first goal of the night less than two minutes into the game. The Titans and Wings exchanged two goals in the first quarter, leaving the quarter tied up at 2-2.

Athan Ianucci scored the first goal of the second quarter for the Wings, but the Titans answered back with a four goal scoring spree, taking a 6-3 lead over Philadelphia. In the flurry of goals for the Titans, two were scored by defenders Matt Alrich and Mitch Belisle, his first on the season.

Wings' transition player Geoff Snider scored an unassisted goal to bring the score to 6-4. Mike McLellan and Jordan Hall scored two more goals for the Titans, but Philly answered back, scoring two back to back goals with less than two minutes left in the first half.

Hall wouldn't let the Wings have the last word though, and he scored the final goal of the half with less than :30 left to bring the score to 9-4 as the teams headed into the tunnel.

The Titans turned it on in the second half, lighting up Wings goalie Rob Blasdell and scoring six goals in the third quarter to the Wings three.

Although the fourth quarter has usually belonged to the Wings this season, the Titans made sure that was not the case on Saturday night, scoring five goals to the Wings' four and ending their night with a 20-13 rout over the Wings, their highest scoring game all season.

Three Titans players had hat tricks in the game, Powell, Boyle and Pat Maddalena. Powell had a season high 11 points, with four goals and seven assists. Boyle and Hall both had seven points, Boyle off of four goals and three assists and Hall off of two goals and five assists.

For Philadelphia, Geoff Snider had six points with one goal and five assists.

The Titans next game is on Saturday, April 5 at Minnesota against the Swarm at 8pm. The Titans return to the Garden on Saturday, April 12 at 8pm, when they take on the Colorado Mammoth.
