
Titans Announce 2nd Annual Hot Stove Dinner: Special Guest Bobby Valentine

The Torrington Titans are excited to announce the second annual Hot-Stove Benefit dinner featuring special guest Bobby Valentine. The dinner will take place on February 8th, 2014 at the Cornucopia Banqueting Hall located in Torrington.
Alan Seraita, Titans President and General Partner, stated that he couldn't be more excited to welcome Mr. Valentine to the Titans Hot Stove Dinner this year. He went on to say, "The hot stove dinner will be our first opportunity to unveil our new front office staff, and to enjoy great food and fellowship in getting the 2014 season off in high style."
Our special guest for the evening, Bobby Valentine has a long tenured resume in the Connecticut and baseball community. Bobby, a native of Stamford Connecticut, is a well-known analyst on ESPN's baseball tonight. After being drafted in 1968, at age 19, by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1st round, he went on to play close to 10 seasons in Major League Baseball (Los Angeles Dodgers (1969 and 1971-1972), California Angels (1973-1975), San Diego Padres (1975-1977), New York Mets (1977-1978) and Seattle Mariners (1979).) Bobby also had the opportunity to manage in Japan for the Chiba Lotte Marines. In his long career Bobby managed a career .260 batting average.
Following his playing career Bobby went on to have a long managerial career. Starting in the Texas Rangers organization (1985-1992), followed by the New York Mets (1996-2002). Following his time with the Mets, Bobby took a 10 year hiatus from the field and became an active member of the ESPN Baseball Tonight news desk. In 2012, Bobby decided to return to the field as a manager of the Boston Red Sox. Most recently Bobby was named Executive Athletic Director of Sacred Heart University where he is working today.
