
Tip Off to Summer of Hoops Drawing Near

The annual Utah Flash Basketball Camp tips off the 2009 "Summer of Hoops" at the The Flash Factory located on Thanksgiving Way in Lehi, Utah. The Flash Camp, featuring instruction from the coaches and players who won the NBA Development League Western Division and advanced to the 2009 NBADL Finals, runs from June 15-19.
There are two sessions available each day of the Flash Camp, with campers having the option of attending either morning (9 a.m.-noon) or afternoon (1-4 p.m.) camps for $150 or both camps each day for $250. In addition to personal instruction, each camper receives an official camp T-shirt and a ticket to the first home game of the 2009-10 Utah Flash season.
The Flash Factory has much more on its summer menu, including an offer that will save campers and their families as much as $500 on all instruction available this summer. The All-Inclusive Package provides the ultimate gym rat a spot in the Utah Flash Camp, On-Going Basketball Training and the Last Chance Basketball Clinic for just $750. Children of Utah Flash and Flash Factory sponsors receive 10-percent off the cost of camps and/or clinics.
In addition to up to 60 hours of hands-on basketball training , the the All-Inclusive Package offers four private workouts by Flash lead assistant coach Dale Osbourne ($400 value), a punch-pass for 20 free drinks ($40 value) and a three-month (June-August) Family Membership to The Flash Factory ($190 value).
From June 22 until July 31, the Flash Factory is offering On-Going Basketball Training for Boys led by Lone Peak High School Coach Quincy Lewis, Jordan High coach Rob Geertsen, Lehi High coach Craig Caldwell and American Fork High coach Doug Meacham. The $199 package includes two hours of training each week, while a $375 package offers four hours of training each week. Built in to each package is a Velocity Sports Performance vertical jump and agility class.
Also beginning on June 22 and running through July 22 is Girls Elite Basketball Skills Training with instruction from former Alta High School coach Anita Rowland and former Murray High head coach Lisa White, who have 28 state tournament and eight final four appearances between them. There are three packages available at price ranges from $175 (two hours per week), $315 (four hours per week) and $425 (four hours plus July 27-30 camp).
The Last Chance Boys Basketball Clinic rounds out the summer schedule with sessions for third and fourth graders on August 3-4 from 9 a.m. until noon and fifth and sixth graders from 1-4 p.m. Seventh and eighth graders will take part in Last Chance instruction from 9 a.m. to noon on August 5-6, while ninth grade through rising seniors will receive instruction from 1-4 p.m.
