Fort Wayne TinCaps News Release
Fort Wayne, IN - The Fort Wayne TinCaps and the Fort Wayne Mad Ants are holding a joint audition on Saturday, October 26th, at the Wambsganss Gymnasium at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne as they search for the newest members of their seasonal entertainment staff. The teams are in search of enthusiastic and experienced candidates to serve as their mascots, Johnny and the Mad Ant, respectively, for the teams' coming seasons.
Prior experience is not necessary, but a background in performance or cheerleading is preferred. The TinCaps have 70 home games each baseball season (April to September), with many community appearances scheduled on both game days and non-game days. The Mad Ants' season runs from late November to early April, with most of the team's 24 home games taking place in the evening. Mascot candidates will be asked to appear at community events as well. A flexible schedule is appreciated. These are not full-time positions.
The tryout will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There is no fee or advance paperwork required. Interested candidates should contact Abby Naas with the TinCaps at 260-482-6400 or by email, naas@tincaps.com, or Heidi Busch with the Mad Ants at 260-469-4667 x 108 or Heidi@fortwaynehoops.com. Concordia Theological Seminary is located at 6600 North Clinton Street in Fort Wayne. The gymnasium can be found by driving approximately one-half mile onto the campus.
