
Timbers to Continue Preseason Training in Tucson March 15

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers today announced their preseason schedule, presented by Old Trapper Beef Jerky, for the 2021 MLS campaign, with the Timbers set to play four matches as part of the team's preseason camp in Tucson, Ariz.
The Timbers will travel to Tucson on Monday, March 15, and will continue preseason training at the Kino Sports Complex. While in Tucson, the Timbers will play four matches over nine days as part of the 2021 Visit Tucson Sun Cup hosted by FC Tucson. The Visit Tucson Sun Cup winner will be determined by the total points earned in three matches from the final two weeks of preseason play.
As part of the Visit Tucson Sun Cup, the Timbers will face the Colorado Rapids and Phoenix Rising FC on Tuesday, March 16, before facing Phoenix again on Saturday, March 20, at the Kino Sports Complex. Closing out their stay in Tucson, the Timbers will face off against Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday, March 24. Due to health and safety regulations, media and fan attendance will soon be determined.
Portland closes out its 2021 preseason preparation by traveling to face Cascadia-rival Seattle Sounders FC at Starfire Sports in Tukwila, Wash., on Tuesday, March 30.
The Timbers' 2021 preseason matches will not feature a webstream.
Portland begins its 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League campaign by first traveling to face CD Marathón at Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano in the first leg of the Round of 16 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras on Tuesday, April 6 at 3 p.m. (Pacific), before playing host to Marathón at Providence Park on Tuesday, April 13 at 5 p.m. (Pacific) in the second leg.
Major League Soccer will announce additional details of the 2021 MLS regular season schedule in the coming weeks.
