
Timbers Record 6-3 Road Win against LA Galaxy

CARSON, Calif. - Receiving goals from four different players, the Portland Timbers extended their unbeaten streak to five games with a 6-3 win against the LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park on Wednesday night. Jeremy Ebobisse and Felipe Mora each recorded a brace, while Larrys Mabiala and Diego Valeri both added goals as Portland recorded its fourth straight win.
In Form
With their win, the Timbers (8-4-3, 27pts) currently sit in second place in the Western Conference standings. Portland has recorded four consecutive wins and is unbeaten in its last five matches, posting a record of 4-0-1. During their five-game unbeaten run, the Timbers have outscored their opponents 15-5.
On The Road
Portland has scored 18 goals in its six road matches this season for an average of 3.0 goals a match. The Timbers 18 road goals are the most of any team in MLS this season. Portland is 4-1-1 in road matches in 2020. The Timbers four road wins are ranked tied for the most in MLS this season with Toronto FC.

POR - Jeremy Ebobisse, 23rd minute: Ebobisse delivered a powerful left-footed strike off a direct free kick into the top left corner of the goal from just outside the box.
LAG - Julian Araujo, 34th minute: Off a corner kick, Portland cleared the ball and it landed for Julian Araujo, who fired a low skipping strike from distance inside the left post.
POR - Diego Valeri, 47th minute: Mora attempted to play a short pass to Valeri making a run into the box down the right side. Mora's pass took a slight deflection and Valeri chipped the ball off the bounce over Galaxy goalkeeper David Bingham.
LAG - Ethan Zubak (Cristian Pavón), 55th minute: Off a throw-in, Cristian Pavón delivered a cross into the box for Ethan Zubak, who directed a header into the back of the net from the center of the box.
POR - Felipe Mora (Jorge Villafaña, Y. Chara), 60th minute: Yimmi Chara slotted the ball to Jorge Villafaña, who played a low hard cross through the box to Mora making a run to the right post for the finish.
POR - Larrys Mabiala, 63rd minute: Dario Zuparic forced a save a point-blank range from Bingham on a header from inside the box and Larrys Mabiala pounced on the loose ball, converting near the goal line.
LAG - Cristian Pavón, 70th minute: Collecting a bouncing ball near the left corner of the box, Pavón sent a shot just inside the left post.
POR - Jeremy Ebobisse (Eryk Williamson), 80th minute: Portland controlled the ball outside the Galaxy box, Ebobisse received a pass from Eryk Williamson just inside the box, dribbled around multiple Galaxy defenders and fired a shot past Bingham at the right post.
Notes
Jeremy Ebobisse recorded his second career brace. He tallied his first career brace against the New England Revolution on Sept. 25, 2019.
Ebobisse has scored seven goals this season for Portland.
Ebobisse played in his 72nd consecutive match across all competitions for the club, tying the club record for the most consecutive matches played in all competitions for the Timbers across all eras.
Ebobisse has scored 20 regular-season goals in his Timbers career.
Felipe Mora recorded his first career brace for Portland. Mora now has six goals this season for the Timbers.
Ebobisse and Mora are the second pair of teammates to each have a brace in the same match for Portland. Diego Valeri and Fanendo Adi each had two goals against Minnesota United FC on March 3, 2017.
Diego Valeri scored his seventh goal of the season. Valeri is the only player in MLS with seven or more goals each of the last five seasons.

Eryk Williamson delivered his fourth assist of the season. Williamson has assisted in consecutive matches for the first time in his MLS career.
Diego Chara recorded his fourth assist of the season. It marks the first time Chara has recorded four assists in a season since 2014.
Jorge Villafaña tallied his third assist of the season. He has 16 career assists for the Timbers, which is tied with Jimmy Conway for 14th-most in all eras of the club.
The Timbers scored six goals in a match for the second time in 2020.
Portland's six-goal output ties the club's all-eras record for most goals in a single match.
The nine combined goals in the match are the most ever in a Timbers match in all eras of the club.
