Timbers Fall to Minnesota United FC 2-1 on the Road

PORTLAND, Ore. - Playing their third match in a seven-day span, the Portland Timbers fell short on the road against Minnesota United FC 2-1 at Allianz Field on Saturday night. Despite Timbers forward Jonathan Rodríguez opening the scoring in the 17th minute, Minnesota found a way to retaliate by scoring two second-half goals to take home three points.

The Timbers have scored 26 goals through 13 matches, tied for third-most by any team this season so far. Portland has scored in each of its last three matches, tallying six goals in that run. In 10 matches as a Timber, Jonathan Rodríguez tallied his fifth goal tonight and his seventh goal contribution in the 2024 campaign. It marked his fourth goal contribution through Portland's last three matches (3G, 1A). David Ayala, recording his 12th appearance this season, notched his first assist since joining Portland.
