Tim Hardaway to coach Miami

March 11, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Miami Majesty News Release

Miami, FL. Demetrius Ford, co-owner of the ABA Miami expansion professional basketball team set to begin play in November today announced that Tim Hardaway, former 5-time NBA All-Star and the league's 11th leading all-time assists leader, will assume the role as Head Coach in addition to his other responsbilities as President and General Manager.

According to Ford, "Tim is a very talented person both on and off the court. He's done a spectacular job in the short time he's assumed the off-court roles as President and General Manager. But he still has a lot of basketball in him, and he's ready for the on-court challenge too."

Hardaway added, "One of our goals is development of players so that they can improve and move up to the NBA. I know I can be very helpful in that plus I want to put together a winning basketball team. Who knows, I might suit up myself and play some games. The City of the Miami should get set for some pretty exciting stuff. The ABA game, with its unusual rules, faster and higher scoring, should grow in popularity here."
