
Tigers Fall in Second Contest at Brooklyn

Brooklyn, NY - Kona Quiggle went 2-for-4 with the lone RBI for the Connecticut Tigers as they took their largest loss of the season by a final score of 12-1 against the Brooklyn Cyclones (30-22).
Jack O'Loughlin (Loss, 2-3) got the start for the Tigers in the contest. Jose Peroza got the Cyclones on the board with an RBI double to make it 1-0 in the bottom of the first.
After a weather delay, the Cyclones came out and added to their lead on an RBI single by Jake Mangum. O'Loughlin went two innings with two runs on five hits and two strikeouts.
In the fourth, Mangum delivered his second RBI on a double to right-center field. Kennie Taylor drove in a run on the second double of the inning to make it 5-0. Mangum finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI.
Corey Gaconi (Win, 3-1) came in relief of the starter, Nate Jones. Jones pitched two scoreless frames before Gaconi went four innings with no runs on three hit, one walk and one strikeout.
Austin Anderson and Ted Stuka delivered a combined three scoreless innings from the fifth to the seventh. Anderson went one inning with no hits, and Stuka went two innings with one walk and one strikeout.
The Cyclones opened up the contest in the eighth inning. Brooklyn totaled seven runs on six hits to stretch their advantage to 12-0. Quiggle delivered the only run of the contest for the Tigers in the top of the ninth with and RBI double to right-center field off of Josh Hejka.
The Connecticut Tigers will be back in action tomorrow night as they take on the Cyclones at MCU Park for the final game of the series.
