Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Saturday the football club has signed American defensive back Donnie Lewis Jr. An updated depth chart and roster has been issued for today's game, including Lewis Jr. on the practice roster.
Lewis, 27, was originally selected by the Cleveland Browns in the seventh round, 221st overall of the 2019 NFL Draft and spent parts of two seasons (2019-20) with the club, while also spending time with the Cincinnati Bengals (2020-21) and Denver Broncos (2022). The 6-0, 190-pound native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana also spent time with the USFL's Birmingham Stallions (2023).
Lewis played 46 games over four seasons (2015-18) at Tulane University, posting 161 total tackles, 48 passes defensed, eight interceptions, one fumble recovery, one blocked kick and half a quarterback sack.
