Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release
Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced the signing of import defensive ends Anthony Collier and Steve Josue today.
"Anthony is young, athletic and has proven that he can be a very productive player in the CFL," said Ticats GM Rob Katz. "Steve is someone that made plays during the pre-season and we want to take another look at him to see how he can contribute."
Collier attended training camp with the Edmonton Eskimos earlier this year after spending the past two seasons with the Ottawa Renegades. During his two seasons in Ottawa, the Dallas, Texas native recorded 26 defensive tackles, five special teams tackles, three interceptions and 12 quarterback sacks in 16 games. In a game against B.C. last season, Collier tied a CFL record by recording five sacks in a single game.
Collier was the Eskimos first round (eighth overall) selection in the 2006 Ottawa Dispersal Draft.
The Ticats signed Josue to the development roster after releasing him at the end of the 2006 Ticats training camp.
The Ticats also announced that they have released non-import DB Imokhai Atogwe.
