June 22, 2006 (Toronto, Ontario) - The Canadian Football League and Making the Connection have teamed up to invite football fans to decide The Greatest Quarterback/ Receiver Connections in CFL History. This new program allows fans across Canada to debate and vote online at www.cfl.ca/makingtheconnection as to who will reign as the CFL's greatest on-field duo, while also generating awareness about how to tackle high cholesterol.

"Thinking back through the many generations of CFL football, it is easy to remember countless great quarterback and receiver tandems," said Wally Buono, Head Coach of the BC Lions and Making the Connection spokesperson. "Fans across the country will be in high debate in deciding just which connection is the greatest in Canadian Football history."

Starting June 23rd through August 18th, vignettes during CFL on TSN's Friday Night Football will reveal the nine nominated tandems from across the League, spanning several generations. Once all nine tandems are unveiled, fans can vote for their favourite duo or debate with other armchair coaches over who deserves the greatest duo honour. Select nominated players will be visiting their CFL hometowns to talk about their nomination with media, as well as raise awareness about the importance of managing high cholesterol. The winning tandem will be announced during halftime at the 94th Grey Cup in Winnipeg, Manitoba on November 19, 2006.

"Making the Connection is an important program for our fans and all Canadians, as it raises awareness of the health risks associated with high cholesterol," said Brent Scrimshaw, Chief Marketing Officer, CFL. "Making the Connection and the CFL have helped thousands of Canadians learn more about managing their cholesterol while enjoying the exciting brand of Canadian football. This quest to choose the greatest Quarterback/Receiver in CFL history is just another example of this thriving partnership."

Triple Threat Entertainment will be producing the vignettes with online support from MRX Associates. Public relations activities are being handled by Weber Shandwick Worldwide. Tandems were selected upon consultation with League and team representatives based on overall achievements, statistical data and significance to their team and the era in which they played.
