Norfolk Tides News Release
Luis Terrero finished 3-for-4 with a triple and four runs batted in, powering the Tides to a 9-7 win over the Indianapolis Indians in front of 7,726 fans at Harbor Park Saturday night.
Terrero started his big night with a two-run triple in the 2nd inning, and he later added run-scoring singles in the 4th and 6th frames. The 27-year-old, who entered play Saturday 4th in the International League with a .416 on-base percentage, is now hitting .341 with a team-high 22 RBI this season.
Terrero's two-run triple capped a six-run second inning for the Tides against Indy starter Bryan Bullington (0-5). Norfolk pounded out six hits in the frame, including an RBI single by Chris Roberson and a two-run single by Omir Santos to build a 6-1 lead.
Tike Redman also had a strong night at the plate, collecting two doubles and an RBI with three runs scored. Redman has now hit safely in 9 of his last 11 games, hitting .341 (15-for-44) over that span.
Tides starter Jon Leicester (2-1) was the beneficiary of the offense, as he picked up his second win of the season despite allowing six runs on nine hits in five innings of work. Leicester walked three and struck out two, throwing 55 of his 96 pitches for strikes.
Ryan Bukvich allowed a run on three hits in the 9th inning, but he retired the potential tying run on a popout to record his first save of the season.
The win was the first for the Tides in seven games against the Tribe this season.
Norfolk and Indianapolis will conclude their season series Sunday afternoon, as Radhames Liz (0-2, 5.82) is slated to take the hill for Norfolk against Indy right-hander Jason Davis (1-3, 6.04). First pitch from Harbor Park is set for 1:15p.m.
