Buffalo Bisons News Release
TODAY'S GAME: This afternoon, the Buffalo Bisons face the Charlotte Knights in the third game of a four-game series at Dunn Tire Park (1:05pm). Each team has a victory in the series as the Herd won 5-2 on Thursday night and Charlotte defeated Buffalo 10-3 last night. Buffalo is 4-2 so far on their current eight-game homestand. The stretch began with a two-game sweep of Pawtucket and a two-game split with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. On the mound tonight will be RHP Adam Miller. The righty has not allowed an earned run over his first two starts of the season. The Knights will counter with RHP Jack Egbert.
MILLER TIME: RHP Adam Miller has been sharp after getting a late start to his 2008 season. Miller has not allowed an earned run in two starts and has given up just eight hits in nine innings of work. On Monday, he held Scranton/Wilkes-Barre off the board for four frames, leaving only because of a high pitch count. Miller spent the first three weeks of the season in extended spring camp to build up his pitch count.
GREAT START: Infielder Michael Aubrey collected a two-run double in his first Triple-A game last night. Aubrey was promoted from Double-A Akron on Friday after hitting in 22 of his first 24 games with the Aeros this year. He was also second on Akron with 16RBI through the first month of the season. Aubrey entered the 2008 a career .301 minor league hitter.
FIRST ROUNDERS: With the addition of Michael Aubrey, the Bisons roster now features seven former first round draft picks. Four were selected by the Cleveland Indians with Brad Snyder (2003), Adam Miller (2003), Jeremy Sowers (2004) and Aubrey (2003). The first rounders selected by other clubs that are with the Bisons now are Jason Tyner (New York-NL, 1998), Matt Ginter (Chicago-AL, 1999) and Aaron Herr (Atlanta, 2000).
BISONS BITS: Jordan Brown was placed on the disabled list on Friday with a left knee injury. Brown leads the International League with 11 doubles...Josh Barfield had two hits last night and now leads the team with 29 hits...RHP Rick Bauer has pitched scoreless baseball in 10 of his 11 outings. His 5 saves are T5th most in the International League....Aaron Herr has 15RBI in his last 16 games. He leads the Bisons with 18 runs driven in.
