Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide News Release

OLD ORCHARD BEACH, ME - The Nashua Silver Knights (25-13) struck for four runs in the seventh inning to take a 6-3 victory from the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide (17-22) on Wednesday afternoon at The Ballpark. Evan Brisentine (San Roman, CA/Santa Clara) had a stellar start for the Tide, going six innings, yielding four hits and striking out three in the no decision.

The home side got off to hot start, striking for two runs in the first inning and one in the second. Brian Doran (Ayr, ONT/Maine) had a triple that scored Aaron Wilson (Windsor, CT/Hartford) from first, then Doran crossed home on a Dylan Begin (St. Albans, VT/UMass) sacrifice to center. Another sacrifice to center in the second inning by Shane Bussey (Boynton Beach, FL/Maine) scored Sam Canales (Saco, ME/Bowdoin) from third, but would be all the run support the Raging Tide would get throughout the game. Nashua's bats would come alive in the seventh, as they combined for two hits and took advantage of some defensive miscues by the Tide to take a 4-3 advantage. The Silver Knights added two runs in the ninth to put this game out of reach.

Canales went 3-4 at the plate with a run scored in the losing effort. John Mildner (Newton, MA/Le Moyne) suffered the loss, giving up one hit, a walk, and two earned runs. Tomorrow will be the All Star game played hosted by the Pittsfield Suns, the game will start at 7pm and followed by a postgame firework show.
