Kyle Edwards Returns to Raging Tide

May 18, 2014 - Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) - Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide News Release

OLD ORCHARD BEACH, ME - With just about two weeks until Opening Day, the Raging Tide have announced the return of a fan favorite from last season.

Kyle Edwards, from Lowell, MA, is returning for his second season in Old Orchard. The 5'10" pitcher, who currently attends UMass Lowell, is a welcome addition. In his first season with the Raging Tide, Edwards appeared in 13 regular season games, going 2-1 over 24 innings pitched, while striking out 23 batters. His two victories came in critical road games in late July and early August to help the Raging Tide clinch the franchise's first playoff berth. He went on to make one appearance in the playoffs for the Tide, allowing no hits in two innings, while striking out two opposing hitters.

In addition to Edwards, the Tide have announced the signing of pitcher, Art'om Rank, from Glenville State College (WV). The 6'1" pitcher from Fennville, Michigan, is finishing up his freshman year at Glenville. Rank pitched 29.1 innings over 11 appearances, starting five games, throwing one complete game and striking out 17 batters.

The Raging Tide's home opener is on June 4th at 7pm at The Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach against the Nashua Silver Knights.
