Tickets Sold out for Sunday's USL Championship Final

LOUISVILLE - Tickets for Louisville City's USL Championship Final showdown with Real Monarchs sold out Thursday morning in less than two hours after the tickets became available to the public.

"I'm not surprised at all," LouCity FC President Brad Estes said. "This fan base has been nothing short of amazing. We believe we have the best supporters in American soccer, and this is the latest example."

The USL Championship Final pits Louisville City, the Eastern Conference Title-Winner, versus Real Monarchs, the winners of the West in a battle for the USL Championship Trophy, Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium on the University of Louisville campus.

"It's been incredible to watch the energy build towards Sunday's final," said USL President Jake Edwards. "Every year this event gets bigger and bigger and we couldn't be happier to watch these two great team's face-off in one of the United States' best soccer communities."

This is the third consecutive season that Louisville City FC has hosted the USL Championship Final. A season ago at Lynn Stadium, a sellout crowd of 7,025 was on hand to see the side earn a 1-0 victory against a Didier Drogba-led Phoenix Rising FC.

Tickets to the USL Championship Final went on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Thursday. Prior to Thursday, Louisville City Season Tickets Members for 2019 and 2020 had an opportunity to purchase their seats via pre-sale links.

"Demand from our Season Ticket Members was at an all-time high," LouCity Manager of Ticket Operations Dave Walkovic said. "Then when the public sale started at 10 a.m., we were averaging more than 100 tickets per minute."

Louisville City earned an opportunity to host the final by virtue of its strong regular-season performance as the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference. Once LouCity eliminated top-seeded Pittsburgh and third-seeded Indy Eleven in the playoffs, the Boys in Purple were the highest seed in the East. In the East, the top three seeds were also eliminated.

Louisville City typically plays its home games at Slugger Field, but the venue, a baseball stadium in downtown Louisville, is being used for another event this weekend. The club returns to the soccer-specific Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium at the University of Louisville for Sunday night's Final.

The club added temporary bleachers to the venue which added an additional 1,800 seats to the approximate 3,200 seats at the collegiate stadium. The club also made roughly 2,000 standing room only tickets available.

While all available seats are currently sold, some tickets are required to be held for each team and the United Soccer League. If any held tickets are released, fans can add their name to the Waiting List to be contacted for purchase: https://www.louisvillecityfc.com/2019final
