Indy Eleven News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - Coming off the heels of its most successful season, Indy Eleven is excited to announce that Martin Rennie will continue to lead as head coach for the 2020 USL Championship season. Today's announcement marks the first in a series of announcements through next Friday that will officially welcome back several key components for a much-anticipated 2020 campaign.
"It is with great pleasure that we are able to ensure Martin continues to be our head coach for the future," said Indy Eleven President and CEO Greg Stremlaw. "I have thoroughly enjoyed growing my personal partnership with him not only as a coach, but as someone that now also sits on our Senior Management Team for our organization. His collaboration and work ethic are exemplary, and I am excited to continue to see exceptional 'best in class' results for our club, both on and off the field."
Rennie, 44, will enter his third year as Indy Eleven's head coach after completing the best season in the team's six-year history. The Boys in Blue concluded the 2019 USL Championship season with the most regular season wins (19), most points (63), most regular season away wins (6) and most goals scored (50) in franchise history. Indiana's Team advanced as far as the USL Championship Playoffs Eastern Conference Final, winning its first home postseason match since 2016 and first-ever away playoff fixture in the Quarterfinal Round at Nashville SC.
"I am delighted to be continuing as Indy Eleven's Head Coach and General Manager. The club is moving in a very positive direction and I am honored to be a part of it," Rennie said.
As head coach, Rennie also possesses the club's longest home undefeated streak at 27 matches across all competitions, including Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and postseason play. The Scotsman's side has not lost in regular season play in its last 25 matches, a streak dating back to July 2018 and among one of the best records in league history.
A United Soccer League and Major League Soccer veteran, Rennie's 18-year coaching career has seen him lead in every professional level in the United States and a stint overseas in South Korea.
Join Coach Rennie as he and the rest of Indiana's Team prepares for the upcoming 2020 USL Championship season. Season ticket packages for 2020 are now available at IndyEleven.com/season-tickets or by calling 317-685-1100.
