Ticket Sales for Pro Soccer at Fifth Third Field Begin Tuesday

Dayton, OH - The box office at Fifth Third Field will begin selling tickets on Tuesday, April 5th at 10:00 a.m. for the first ever professional soccer games held at the stadium. Tickets will also be available online at daytondragons.com, via Ticketmaster at (800) 745- 3000, or ticketmaster.com.

Ticket prices will be $11.00 for adults, $7.00 for youth (age 12 and under), and $5.00 for lawn seating.

The Dayton Dutch Lions will take part in the first professional soccer event ever held at Fifth Third Field on Saturday, May 28, 2011 when the Dutch Lions host the Charlotte Eagles in an official USL Professional Division regular season match.

The Dutch Lions and Eagles will begin the night with a women's game at 6:00 p.m. The men's game between the two clubs will follow at 8:00 p.m. Gates will open at 5:00 p.m.

The playing surface at Fifth Third Field will be aligned to accommodate the dimensions of a soccer field. The Fifth Third Field seating bowl, the club level, and stadium luxury suites will also be used similarly to Dragons baseball games. Concessions stands and suite level catering will be available as usual.

The event marks the continuation in the effort by the Dragons to bring events to downtown Dayton. Last fall, the Dragons hosted amateur boxing featuring Olympic hopefuls at Fifth Third Field. In past seasons, the Dragons have hosted concerts with major acts like Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Bryan Adams, and many others. The Dragons have hosted two Major League exhibition games featuring the Cincinnati Reds and the Atlantic 10 Baseball Championships. Additionally, each spring, the Dragons host more than 20 high school baseball games at Fifth Third Field.

Dayton Dutch Lions FC will enter its second season in 2011 with a schedule from April 16 until August 13. The team plays in the National Division of the new USL Professional Division, the third tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. The Dutch Lions women's team will begin play in 2011 in the USL W-League.
