Ticats Sign Two Before Camp Kicks Off

Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has signed import defensive back Martin Manson and import running back Demetris Summers.

Manson, a 5-9, 165-pound native of Hartford, Connecticut played four seasons at Southern Connecticut State, registering 140 tackles and eight interceptions with the Owls.

He returned 15 punts for 127 yards and 21 kickoffs for 519 yards during his senior season.

Manson was named as an All-Northeast Conference in all four years of his collegiate career.

Summers, a 6-1, 210-pound native of Lexington, South Carolina has spent the last two seasons with the Calgary Stampeders, carrying the ball 27 times for 188 yards while making 15 receptions for 187 yards.

He also returned 56 kickoffs for 1,373 yards (24.5 avg) and four punts for 32 yards.

Summers captured a Grey Cup championship with the Stampeders in 2008.

The Ticats also announced that the team has placed receiver Scott Mayle on the suspended list.
