Sioux Falls, SD (October 7, 2005) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that Nate Tibbetts will be the top assistant for head coach Dave Joerger during the upcoming 2005-06 season. Tibbetts joins the ‘Force after a successful four-year stint as an assistant men's basketball coach at the University of Sioux Falls.

"I would like to thank Coach Joerger and the Heineman family for this wonderful opportunity," said Tibbetts. "I am looking forward to working with Coach Joerger and bringing another championship to Sioux Falls."

Tibbetts was hired as an assistant coach at USF prior to the 2001-02 season. The 2003-04 squad was the best in school history as they would finish the dream season with 26 wins before falling to Bellevue University (Neb.) 72-60 in the Final Four.

Prior to working at USF, Tibbetts enjoyed a stellar playing career at the University of South Dakota. He is second all-time in the USD record books in career assists (687) and steals (215). He was named All-NCC in 2001 and Honorable Mention All-NCC in 1999-00, in addition to playing on three-straight NCC Conference Championship teams (1999-01). Tibbetts was a two-year starter for Sioux Falls Roosevelt High School and earned first-team class AA All-State and first-team All-Sioux Interstate conference honors his senior season.

Coach Tibbetts will be available for one-on-one interviews on Monday, October 10 from 3:00-4:00 pm at the Skyforce office located at 2101 W. 41st Street, Suite 39. If there are any questions please feel free to contact Public Relations Director Brett Hansen.
