Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release

WINNIPEG, MB – This Thursday's game between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the British Columbia Lions is full of special events.

Along with the battle for 1st Place in the CFL's West Division, the July 22 game is special because the Winnipeg Football Club will pay tribute to the 1984 Grey Cup Champion Blue Bomber Team. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CDT.

The 20th Anniversary celebration begins with a pre-game party from 5:30-7:00 p.m. with an autograph session in the South end zone from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The pre-game celebration will include the Grey Cup, which will be on display. The first 10,000 fans through the gates will receive posters of the 1984 team, distributed by game-day sponsor Travel Manitoba.

Mike and the Eastwood Gang will perform during the pre-game party, courtesy of the Pony Corral.

The half-time of the July 22 game will be dedicated to the 1984 team, complete with player introductions and a video tribute. Joe Poplawski will speak on behalf of the 1984 team. A post-game fireworks display is also part of the game-day happenings.
