ThunderBolts Set to Begin 2006 Training Camp

LAKELAND-The Lakeland ThunderBolts will open training camp on Friday, February 24, at Mulberry High School.
Forty players are scheduled to report to Head Coach Teddy Keaton on Friday. The ThunderBolts will undergo physicals, have equipment issued, and attend additional meetings Saturday and Sunday before hitting the field for the first time Monday morning.
The ThunderBolts are bringing in 28 newcomers, many with extensive professional experience, and 12 returnees to training camp to compete for the 25 spots on the roster. Among those returning for the ThunderBolts are QB Jeremy Martin, WR William Glover and DB Aramis Haralson. They will be battling such outstanding athletes such as Jason Johnson, Kovey Jones, and Don Robinson.
"Every person who has been invited to camp is a quality, high level professional. We are expecting intense completion at every position" stated Coach Keaton. "I know our final 25 man roster will be one of the best in the NIFL."
Training camp will also include a scrimmage against the Osceola Outlaws, of the NIFL, at the Mulberry High School football field on Friday, March 3 at 7pm. The scrimmage is open to the public and admission is free. Training camp will concluded on March 6. The ThunderBolts training camp roster, which consists of 40 players, will be trimmed to the NIFL's regular season 25 man limit over the course of the grueling two week camp.
The ThunderBolts kick off their 2006 season on Saturday, March 11, when they host the West Palm Beach Phantoms at the Lakeland Center. Kickoff is set of 7:00 p.m.; gates open at 6:00 p.m.
