Lakeland ThunderBolts News Release

LAKELAND-The Lakeland ThunderBolts host the Fayetteville Guard in an Atlantic Conference clash this Saturday, April 29th at 7pm at the Lakeland Center. Fayetteville begins their two-game road trip with a stop in Lakeland after a 54-51 victory at home over Osceola. The ThunderBolts are back home after a two-game road trip with a 40-16 victory over the Tennessee RiverSharks. Both the ThunderBolts and the Guard's record thus far this season is 5-0. When the teams take the field this Saturday it will be the "Battle of the Unbeaten". This will be the only regular season meeting between these two teams, but there is a possibility that they could meet again in the playoffs.

About the Guard: Fayetteville just barely walked away with their victory over Osceola (54-51) last week at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, LA. The win was a total team effort. QB Shawn Withy-Allen completed 7-of-10 pass for 71 yards 1 interception. RB Wilmount Perry leads the league in rushing with 74 yards per game. Against Osceola Perry rushed the ball 12 times for a gain of 82 yards and 3 touchdowns. Fayetteville does not carry a kicker on their roster; which is part of their offensive strategy to always go for a two point conversion.

About the ThunderBolts: The ThunderBolts defense did not let up for the Tennessee RiverSharks allowing them to only score 16 points in their 40-16 victory. The ThunderBolts defense is number one in the league for points against, allowing only 106 points to be scored by their opponents. The ThunderBolts offense is sixth in the league with point for scoring 255. The ThunderBolts are looking to improve their record to 6-0 with a win Saturday night.

The ThunderBolts are at home again May 6 vs. Monroe Twin City Gators. Kick off is at 7pm at the Lakeland Center. Season Tickets and Mini Flex Plans are still available for the ThunderBolts second season of professional indoor football. Single game tickets are now available at the Lakeland Center Box Office 863.834.8111 or at any Ticketmaster location 863.682.5300. All home games are played at the Lakeland Center.
