
ThunderBolts Get Talent on Both Sides of Ball

LAKELAND-Head Coach Teddy Keaton of the Lakeland ThunderBolts announced today the signing of five new players to the ThunderBolts roster. Those players are Robert Branch, Tavarious Horton, Clint Moore, Alex Mendez, and De'Marco Johnson. Three of these players come to the ThunderBolts with NFL experience.
Robert Branch (Defensive End, 6'4", 320lbs), an outstanding defensive end who be instrumental in helping anchor the Defensive Line for the Lakeland ThunderBolts. In only two seasons with Stillman College Branch had 152 tackles, 42 for loses, 21 sacks, and 7 forced fumbles. In 2002, Branch played in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns.
Tavarious Horton (Linebacker, 6'0", 235lbs), a high school prep star spend two years at Auburn University before transferring to Gardner-Webb where he was a two-time 1st team All-American, and Honorable Mention All-American his senior year. While at Gardner-Webb Horton had 205 tackles, 16 sacks, 2 interceptions, 9 forced fumbles and 3 recovered fumbles. Horton went on to play with the Buffalo Bills.
Clint Moore (Defensive End, 6'4", 297lbs), attended Bethune Cookman College where he proved to be a dominant rush end. Moore is a native of Tampa, where attended Gaither High School.
Alex Mendez (Offensive Line, 6'6", 340lbs), had a great career at UCF where he was an outstanding offensive lineman. Mendez then went on to spend sometime in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers. Mendez is a versatile offensive lineman who can play anywhere on the line.
De'Marco Johnson (Defensive End/Fullback, 6'3", 270lbs), started his career at South Carolina State. Johnson spent two years with the Florida Fire Cats, AFL2 and then two years with the Columbus Wardogs, AFL2. Johnson will help the ThunderBolts out tremendously with his versatility to play many different positions.
