Stars to hold Springfield tryouts

The Arkansas Stars, a new National Indoor Football League expansion team, will hold free-agent tryouts Saturday, February 4, at Lake Country Soccer Arena, Springfield, Missouri. Registration begins at 1 p.m. and the workout begins at 2 p.m. Registration fee is $50, cash or money order, payable at the time of registration.
Workouts will consist of the 40-yard dash, 20-yard short shuttle, vertical jump, broad jump, and bench press (225#). Prospects need to bring shorts and turf shoes or tennis shoes. To be considered, you must be 19 or older by March 18, 2006.
During its inaugural season, the Arkansas Stars will play at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. "We feel there are talented men in the Springfield area who want to play indoor football, and we want to sign them," said Ron Hargrave, CEO.
