Stars hold open tryouts for 2006 season
The Arkansas Stars, an NIFL expansion team, will be holding free-agent tryouts on February 11, 2006 at All Star Sports Arena, 1906 Cambridge Street, Springdale, Arkansas. Registration begins at 3 p.m. and the workout begins at 4 p.m. Registration fee is $50, cash or money order, payable at the time of registration.
The tryouts will be broken down into several testing areas: 40 yard dash, 20 yard short shuttle, vertical jump, broad jump and bench press (225lbs). All players should bring shorts, turf-shoes or tennis shoes, and other necessary clothing. To be considered, you must be 19 or older by March 18, 2006. "We hope to see many former Razorbacks tryout," said CEO, Ron Hargrave. "Our inaugural game is April 1 at Randal Tyson Track Center and the seats are going quickly. Practices start after February 15, and we know Northwest Arkansas wants to see their former Razorback stars become Arkansas Stars."
A press conference will follow the workouts, where the final picks for the team to go to camp and the cheer/dance team will be announced.
