
Thunderbirds Sign Cripe

Rio Rancho, NM - The New Mexico Thunderbirds announced today that they have signed center, James Cripe (7-0, 250, Dayton).
Cripe played in four games for the Springfield Armor last season and averaged 4.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game. He was in the Rio Grande Valley Vipers' training camp before being released on Nov. 12.
Cripe played three seasons at the University of Dayton from 2003 until 2006. His senior season he averaged 2.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in 12.8 minutes per game.
To make room for Cripe on the roster, the Thunderbirds released center Tyler Hughes, (6-11, 240, Kansas State) who scored four points and had two rebounds in the opener.
The New Mexico Thunderbirds won their season opener by 21 points against Idaho Stampede on Saturday, Nov. 20. They will begin their inaugural season at the Santa Ana Star Center with two games this Friday and Saturday against the Utah Flash both at 7:30 p.m.
