ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., November 27, 2005 - The Albuquerque Thunderbirds defeat the Tulsa 66ers 93-82 to complete the two game sweep at Tingley Coliseum. 66ers Desmond Farmer led all scorers with 19 points in front of an announced crowd of 1,415
Thunderbirds jumped out to a 14-1 lead in the first quarter, and went into the locker room at halftime up 46-41. The 66ers were able to tie the score at 70 with 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter, but were never able to take the lead. Ken Johnson led all Thunderbirds in scoring with 18 points and snagged 6 rebounds. Bryant Mathews turned in his first double-double of the season by pouring in 12 points while pulling down 11 rebounds. Other double figure scorers for the Thunderbirds were Marcus Taylor (13 points) and Joe Shipp (11 points).
In addition to Farmer's 19 points, the 66ers had John Lucas (15 points), Sean Banks (13 points), and Will Conroy (10 points) all scoring in double figures.
