Halifax Thunderbirds News Release
HALIFAX, NS - The Halifax Thunderbirds today announced that the team has agreed to a two-year contract extension with forward Eric Fannell.
"Eric is such a unique offensive player. Very few guys can combine such scoring finesse and also play such a physical role, setting hard picks to get others open and scooping up offensive ground balls to give the team a second possession," Thunderbirds Owner and General Manager Curt Sytres said. "Eric is such a hand full to play against we are really lucky to have him on our team."
Fannell, 29, has spent his entire five-year career to date as a member of the Thunderbirds' organization. He was selected by the franchise in the first round (sixth overall) of the 2017 NLL Draft.
The St. Catharines, Ontario product just capped off the best season of his career to date, setting new career highs in goals (29) and points (52) while tying his career high in assists (23).
A graduate of Ohio State, Fannell has played in 59 career games, posting 69 goals and 72 assists for 141 points.
