Friday, March 1st

Wichita at Allen, 4-0 L

- Wichita fell behind early and couldn't recover, getting shut out for the third time this season. Aaron Dell stopped all 28 shots he faced while Anthony Maiani added two goals .

Saturday, March 2nd

Bloomington at Wichita, 6-3 W

- Three players recorded three points and Torrie Jung returned to action after missing four starts to earn his 17th win of the season to tie a career-high. Chad Painchaud had two goals and an assist. RG Flath registered a goal and two assists and Matt Summers added his first goal since January 19th along with two assists.

Sunday, March 3rd

Missouri at Wichita, 6-2 W

-Wichita jumped out to a 3-0 lead and never looked back, cruising to a 6-2 win over rival, Missouri. Ian Lowe scored two goals in 1:04 apart while Neil Trimm and Matt Robinson each had three points. Jung won his 18th game of the year, which is a new personal best for him.

POTM- Chad Painchaud was named as the Easton CHL Player of the Month for February. Painchaud finished with 17 points (7g, 10a), was +9, recorded one power play goal and five assists on the man advantage. Overall, he has 47 points (15g, 32a) in 39 games this season .

BEHIND THE ARC - T hree has been a magic number for the Thunder over the last two games. On Saturday night, three players recorded three point-nights and two more did the same on Sunday. Chad Painchaud, who has recorded points in nine of his last 11 games, has four games in which he had three points. Sunday night was the first time since February 16th that he didn't hit that mark even though he recorded a goal. Flath (1g, 2a) and Summers (1g, 2a) had three on Saturday night while Trimm (1g, 2a) and Robinson (0g, 3a) had three points on Sunday.

300 CLUB- Matt Robinson became the latest player to reach a career milestone, recording his 300th career point on Sunday. He had three assists in the team's 6-2 victory over Missouri. He joins Chad Painchaud and Nathan Lutz who hit that mark earlier this season.

SHOOTING FOR 26 - Wichita leads the league with 22 home wins and has a chance to tie the franchise record of 26. The 1993-94 squad finished 26-4-2 overall and with four home games remaining, Wichita can equal that feat.

OFF DAYS- Wichita has been solid on Tuesdays and Sundays this season. When playing on a Tuesday, Wichita is 2-0-0 at home, 3-0-1 on the road (combined 5-0-1). When playing on a Sunday, Wichita is 5-0-0 at home and 8-0-1 overall.

INCHING TO 300 - Head Coach Kevin McClelland is moving closer to joining a prestigious club. He will be the seventh coach in the CHL to surpass 300 wins as he is just three shy of that mark. McClelland recently coached in his 500th career game and passed Gary Unger for seventh place with 294 career wins .

GOING STRONG- Wichita has eight players that have suited up for all 56 games this season. Travis Wight has played in 188-consecutive games in a Thunder uniform. The record for most consecutive games played in Thunder history is Jason Duda at 225 from March 3rd, 2000 to November 18th 2003.

LAST FIVE- Painchaud and Neil Trimm (4g, 3a) both have seven points over the last five. Right behind him is Andrew Martens with six points (0g, 6a).

MILESTONES- Summers sits at 194 assists and 296 points for his career. Neil Trimm is six goals shy from reaching 100 for his career. Les Reaney is six goals shy of that same mark with 94 career goals. Nathan Lutz is approaching 700 career games as he is 10 games shy. Dustin Donaghy needs 10 penalty minutes to reach 200 for his career.

THUNDERBOLTS...Neil Trimm is tied in fourth in goals (28)...Ian Lowe is tied for third in power play goals (10) while Young is in eighth (7) and Flath is tied in ninth (7)...Wichita is second in goals scored (197)...Wichita is first in second period goals (78) and first in second period shots (675)...Wichita is second in goals for per game (3.52) and second in goals against per game (2.64)...Wichita is first in shots for per game (33.70) and first in shots against per game (26.13)...Wichita is 20-2-2 when leading after one...Wichita is 24-1-2 when leading after two periods...When trailing after one, Wichita is 8-11-0...When trailing after two, Wichita is 3-15-3...In 1-goal games, Wichita is 9-4-7...In 4-goal games, Wichita is 8-4-0...When scoring on the power play, Wichita is 20-7-4...

Wichita heads back down to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to take on the Brahmas for the final time this season on Wednesday. The Thunder return home on March 8th and 9th for a pair of home games. Friday night is Team Photo Night and Saturday Night is Alumni Night with the Thunder Alumni playing against the Men's League All-Stars before the game.
