Thunder names Johnson assistant GM

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Daytona Beach Thunder announces Jeremiah Johnson will serve as the Assistant General Manager for the American Indoor Football League expansion franchise.

Johnson comes to the Thunder after a stint with the Daytona Cubs, one of the most successful franchises in the Florida State League.

"Jeremiah brings both experience and a wealth of knowledge of the Daytona Beach market,'' said Thunder CEO Zack McDonald. "Our operations just got dramatically better with Jeremiah coming on board."

Johnson will handle the team's day-to-day operations with an emphasis on sales and marketing.

"This is an excellent opportunity and I appreciate the Thunder management's faith in my abilities," Johnson said. "I'm excited about continuing to work in the Daytona Beach area.and build a first-rate football franchise."

A native of Ozark, Ala., Johnson is the former owner of New Wave Marketing, an Atlanta-based marketing firm. He also worked in radio sales for Daytona Beach radio station WGNE (Froggy 99.9) of the Renda Broadcasting Group.
