Stockton Thunder News Release

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder announced the team is scheduled to wear Edmonton Oilers Reebok EDGE home model jerseys (midnight blue with copper trim) in home games on Friday, Jan. 23 against the Phoenix RoadRunners (7:30 p.m.) and Saturday, Jan. 24 against the Alaska Aces (7:30 p.m.) at Stockton Arena.

After the two games honoring its National Hockey League affiliate, the Edmonton Oilers, the Thunder is scheduled to host a live "Jersey Off Our Back" auction presented by Comcast & 104.1 The Hawk immediately following Saturday's game, where all fans are invited to bid on each game-worn jersey by the Thunder players, which will be facilitated on the ice surface of Stockton Arena.

Thunder forwards Garet Hunt, David Rohlfs and goaltender Bryan Pitton will be featured in the Oilers jerseys on "Player Poster Night," presented by Comcast & 104.1 The Hawk, free to all fans in attendance on Friday's game vs. Phoenix.

Reebok EDGE jerseys are designed and created by Reebok Hockey, the official equipment supplier of the ECHL. Worn by every National Hockey League team since 2007-08 and used in the ECHL All-Star Game since 2006-07, the Reebok EDGE jersey was introduced as a new uniform system designed to assist players in repealing moisture and enhanced mobility.

ABOUT THE EDMONTON OILERS For the third consecutive season, Stockton is serving as the AA minor-league affiliate for Oilers prospects. The Oilers, a member of the NHL's Western Conference and Northwest Division, have been a member of the National Hockey League since the 1979-80 season and are a winner of five Stanley Cup Championships (1983-84, 1984-85, 1986-87, 1987-88 and 1989-90).The Oilers have sent six players to the Hockey Hall of Fame - a list of "who's who" in hockey history - including Wayne Gretzky (NHL's all-time leading scorer), Jari Kurri, Mark Messier, Grant Fuhr, Paul Coffey and Glenn Anderson. Glen Sather (President and General Manager) and Rod Phillips (Radio Broadcaster) have also earned spots in the Hall of Fame.

Currently, the Thunder have 11 players on the active roster under an NHL contract to the Oilers or to its American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Falcons.
