
Thunder Edged in Rocky Mountain

BROOMFIELD, CO- The Wichita Thunder lost 3-1 to the Rocky Mountain Rage at the Broomfield Event Center on Sunday evening.
Rage forward David Morelli opened the scoring with a goal at 3:37 in the first period. Rocky Mountain took a 2-0 advantage at 13:40 in the second period when defenseman Mark smith scored on a breakaway after coming out of the penalty box.
In the third, Troy Ofukany pulled the Thunder within one goal, scoring on a one-timer on a Thunder power play. Joel Hanson and Andrew Davis assisted on the goal. Scott Wray scored on an empty net however, and gave the Rage a 3-1 lead at 19:32 in the third period.
Krister Toews took the loss, saving 31 of 33 shots. Scott Reid earned the win saving 24 of 25. The Thunder went 1 for 9 on the power play, while going 6 for 6 on the penalty kill.
