Thunder Dropped against Wings

Harlingen, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings (25-19) beat the McAllen Thunder (16-29) 10-4 on Tuesday thanks to a three-run eighth inning.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the fourth; with five lead changes that led to the WhiteWings take the lead for good in the eighth inning.

Leugim Barroso racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings. He singled in the first and third innings and tripled in the eighth inning.

The McAllen Thunder offense were held in check by reliever Alberto Reyes, who gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Erinzon Bautista got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered five hits.

Demetrius Banks (3-3) ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked one and struck out one.

The McAllen Thunder will continue their four game series against the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings on Wednesday with the first pitch scheduled at 7:05 p.m.
