HEAD TO HEAD - This is the 12th meeting of the season between the Thunder and the Americans. All-time, Wichita is 21-42-7 against Allen and 10-24-2 on the road in the series.
TODAY - Wichita concludes its five-game road swing tonight with a trip to Texas to take on Allen. The Americans won last night's game by the final of 5-3. Tonight is the second-to-last trip for the Thunder to the Allen Event Center. Wichita plays its final game at the AEC on April 5th. With the win, Allen remains just four points back of Colorado in the Mountain Division while Wichita is tied for sixth in the Central. Chad Costello leads the Americans with 20 points (4g, 16a) against the Thunder and had two assists in last night's game. Jamie Doornbosch leads Wichita with eight points (4g, 4a) against Allen while Matt DeBlouw has seven points (4g, 3a).
MARCO - Louick Marcotte scored his 13th goal of the season last night that helped Wichita get back into the game. He pulled into a tie for first on the team with Matt DeBlouw. Marcotte needs three more to equal his totals from his rookie season as he tallied 16 last year in Adirondack.
DUNNER - Vincent Dunn scored his fourth goal of the season last night and also added an assist. His two-point outing is the first multi-point game of the season for the Hull, Quebec native.
UNEXPECTED OFFENSE - Brandon Carlson recorded his third goal of the season last night. He fired a shot from the blue line that got past Riley Gill to cut the Allen lead to one. Gerrad Grant added an assist and now has helpers in back-to-back games. Macoy Erkamps also recorded an assist, giving the rookie defenseman from Delta, British Columbia 24 points (5g, 19a).
SHOOTING GALLERY - Wichita outshot Allen last night, 40-26. It was the first time since February 4th that the Thunder had fired 40 shots or more shots on net. Wichita is 11th in the league in shots for per game (32.36).
THUNDERBOLTS... Vincent Arseneau is tied for second with five shorthanded points and tied for first with four shorthanded goals...Wichita is tied for fourth in the league in shorthanded goals (12)...Wichita is fifth in the league in penalty minutes per game (17.90)...Wichita is 12-2-2-1 when leading after two...Wichita is 7-10-1-0 when tied after one...Wichita is 8-11-2-0 when outshooting its opponent...
ALLEN NOTES - Allen has won their last six games...Chad Costello leads the league in assists (77) and points (108)...Greger Hanson is fifth with 71 points (33g, 38a)...Riley Gill leads the league in goals-against average (2.15) and save percentage (.938)...David Makowski is third in scoring by a defenseman with 48 points (15g, 33a)...
