
Thunder, AT&T to hold preseason banquet

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder will be hold their first ever preseason banquet on Wednesday evening, October 18 at the Four Points Sheraton, located at 5805 W. Kellogg.
The first annual "Drop the Puck Banquet", sponsored by AT&T and the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail reception, featuring complimentary beer, soft drinks and a cash bar, with dinner at 7:00 p.m.
Following dinner, Thunder head coach Mark French will address the fans and introduce the players. The banquet is open only to Thunder season ticketholders and corporate sponsors as an exclusive opportunity to meet the 2006-07 team. The new Thunder Dance Team, the Lampton Lightning, will also make their debut performance on this evening.
Fans can purchase banquet tickets for just $40 each or a corporate table for $300. Each table will feature a different Thunder player. The 2006 CHL Most Improved Franchise, the Thunder will begin their 15th CHL season with a pair of home games on Friday, October 20th versus the Tulsa Oilers and Saturday, October 21st versus the Oklahoma City Blazers. The Thunder finished second in the CHL and seventh among 54 "AA" hockey teams for attendance last season, averaging 5,719 fans per game. For tickets, call the Thunder office at 264-GOAL.
