Chicago Throwbacks News Release

Chicago, IL - Chicago Throwbacks Head Coach Donnie Boyce has resigned to accept an assistant coaching job with the Reno Bighorns of the NBA Developmental League. Assistant Coach Charles Scott has been named Interim Head Coach until further notice.

"First I would like to thank George Bellevue for giving me the opportunity to coach the Throwbacks," said head coach Donnie Boyce. "Coaching in the NBA is a lifelong dream of mine and I believe that by being visible in the NBA Developmental League will get me one step closer to my dream. This was a tough decision for me because I would like to finish what George Bellevue and I have started in Chicago by eventually bringing the PBL championship to our city one day."

"I am both happy and sad if that is possible," said Chicago Throwbacks Owner George Bellevue. "Happy because this is exactly the reason that I started the Throwbacks, to give young men from Chicago an opportunity to continue chasing their dream of playing or coaching in the NBA. Donnie is a legend in Chicago winning a state championship in 1991 with arguably one of the best high school teams to ever win a state championship. I am sad to see him go because Donnie was an intricate part of the Throwbacks progression this year. We wish Donnie the best and he will always be considered part of the Throwback family."
