
Kebs upset Rainmen and Ruin Millien's debut

Halifax, NS - Quebec came in against a heavily favored Halifax squad getting 28 from Jean-Phillipe Morin as the Kebs ruin the Rainmen debut of A.J. Millien in their 95-78 victory over Halifax.
The first quarter was flat for both teams with neither getting into the flow of things. The highlight of the quarter was when the league's leading scorer A.J. Millien made his Rainmen debut with 3:59 to go in the quarter. He would score his first points for Halifax on a free throw at the 2:14 mark of the quarter.
In the second it was all Kebs as they outscored Halifax 28-11. Charles Fortier had the first seven points of the quarter on a three, an 18 footer and a pair of free throws and Michael Anderson had nine of his 12 in the stanza, including the last seven on two monster dunks and a three. The Kebs would lead 44-26 at the half.
Halifax couldn't find the basket shooting only 31.6 percent, while the defense allowed the Kebs to shoot 47.2 percent from the field.
The Rainmen would try to make a game of it in the third, outscoring the Kebs 29-25 to cut the lead to 14. A.J. Millien started to show a certain comfort level with the Rainmen hitting for nine points in the quarter on 3-5 from the field. Cordell Jeanty added five in the period for Halifax.
The Kebs would ice it in the fourth going on a 12-0 run to start the quarter. Dominique Soucy had a pair of threes during the run and Jean-Phillipe Morin had a pair of baskets. Halifax could not get their offense going as the Rainmen drop to 7-5; the Kebs improve to 3-8.
Notes: In his Halifax debut, PBL leading scorer A.J. Millien had 12 points on 4-10.
