DUNEDIN, Fl - Despite blowing a 3-0 lead, the Clearwater Threshers rallied to back to knock off the Dunedin Blue Jays 5-3 on Sunday afternoon at TD Ballpark to salvage a split of the six-game series.

Left-hander Jordan Fowler made his first start of the season on the mound for Clearwater, allowing three runs on four hits while walking three in 2.2 innings of work.

The Threshers (5-10, 40-40) used a Dunedin fielding error in the first to grab an early 1-0 lead, before loading the bases and pushing home two more in the second on RBI singles by third baseman Albert Jerez and MLB rehabber Nick Maton to make it 3-0.

In the third, the Blue Jays (8-6, 36-44) scratched across three runs on a bases loaded walk, a wild pitch and RBI single by Jommer Hernandez to tie the contest 3-3. The go-ahead run was thrown out at home by right fielder Justin Williams (MiLB Rehab) to end the inning.

Tied 3-3 in the sixth, Jamari Baylor smashed his fourth home run of the season just over the wall in left-center to give the visitors a 4-3 advantage. The Threshers opened the seventh with a double and single from Williams and Maton in the seventh, later adding an insurance run on a groundout by Kendall Simmons to make it 5-3.

The Threshers used a combination of six pitchers in the game, as left-hander Matt Osterberg was credited with his first win of the season. The southpaw allowed no runs on five hits and struck out one in two middle innings of relief. Relievers Victor Lopez, Sam Jacobask, Gabriel Yanez and Rodolfo Sanchez combined to shut down the Blue Jays offense the rest of the way. Sanchez secured his fourth save of the season in the ninth, working a scoreless frame with two strikeouts to preserve the 5-3 victory.

Following an off day Monday, Clearwater returns to action on Tuesday night - opening a six-game road series against the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels. First pitch from Hammond Stadium is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. with coverage on the Threshers Broadcasting Network set to begin at 6:50 p.m.
