CLEARWATER -- A four-run 10th inning propelled the Dunedin Blue Jays over the Clearwater Threshers, 9-5 on Wednesday night.

Gustavo Pierre and L.B. Dantzler provided the damage for the Blue Jays (25-27) against Threshers' reliever Ulises Joaquin in the top of the 10th.

With runners at second and third and one out, the game tied at five, Pierre ripped a double down the left field line which scored Dwight Smith, Jr. and Marcus Knecht. Dantzler followed that up with a two-run homer to right that extended the Blue Jays lead to 9-5.

Joaquin (0-1) was charged with the loss after giving up the four runs in his only inning of work.

The Threshers (22-30) had trailed 5-3 going into the bottom of the eighth inning, but Clearwater fought back with two outs. Art Charles reached base after being hit by a pitch. That set the stage for Brandon Short with a man on against Chad Girodo. Short crushed a pitch over the left-field wall to tie the game at five.

After blowing the save, Girodo (6-2) was credited with the victory. The Blue Jays' left-hander threw three innings and gave up the two runs on two hits without walking a batter and striking out three.

Miguel Nunez got the start for the Threshers and received a no-decision. Nunez tossed 5.1 innings and surrendered four runs on five hits while walking three and striking out five.

Chris Serritella led the way offensively for Clearwater, finishing 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Serritella's RBI single got the Threshers on the board first and he later scored on a double by Gabriel Lino which put Clearwater up 2-0.

Roman Quinn launched his fifth big fly of the season to right in the fifth inning and briefly put the Threshers ahead 3-2. Quinn finished 1-for-5.

The series concludes Thursday night at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium in Dunedin. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. Mark Leiter, Jr. will be on the hill for Clearwater while Taylor Cole gets the call for the Blue Jays. Coverage begins at 6:15 p.m. on threshersbaseball.com.
