Threshers No-Hit in 3-0 Loss to Marauders

BRADENTON, Fl - The Clearwater Threshers were no-hit in a 3-0 shutout loss to the Bradenton Marauders in game three of the six-game series on Thursday night at LECOM Park. Four Bradenton pitchers combined for the second no-hitter in team history.

Left-hander Kent Emanuel, on a MLB Rehab assignment from the Philadelphia Phillies made the start on the mound for Clearwater, allowing only one hit and striking out three in three innings of work.

Fellow southpaw Ryan Sherriff, also on a MLB rehab assignment, worked a scoreless fourth, before the Marauders (24-30) opened the scoring in the fifth with three runs off lefty Rafael Marcano to make it 3-0.

The only base runners the Threshers (28-25) put aboard in the contest were on walks by Wendell Rijo, Andrick Nava, Nicolas Torres and a hit by pitch from Leandro Pineda.

Trailing 3-0, the Threshers were unable to muster up anything offensively in the final few frames as the foursome of Quinn Priester, Anthony Solometo, Jake Sweeney and Yunior Thibo combined to finish off the no-hitter.

Clearwater returns to action on Friday night with left-hander Jordi Martinez (1-2, 3.96 ERA) scheduled to start for the Threshers. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. with coverage on the Threshers Broadcasting Network beginning at 6:20 p.m.
