Saturday, May 10th at Volcanoes Stadium
Pitch, Hit and Run Competition

The National Pepsi Pitch Hit and Run Competition will be held at the Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer. This event is open to all boys and girls ages 7 to 14 (age is determined as of July 17, 2003). The competition provides youngsters an opportunity to participate in an exciting skills competition; Pitching for accuracy, Hitting for distance and accuracy and Running for speed. The event will begin at 10 am, registration is required with parental permission necessary and proof of age (birth certificates or baptismal certificate) is required. This is a National grassroots program that has four levels of competition -- Local, Sectional, Team Championship and National Finals. Winners in each age classification will have the opportunity to advance with the possibility of competing in the National Finals that will occur at the 2003 Major League All Star Game in Chicago. The event is sponsored locally by the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes and there is no charge to register! Registration forms are available for pickup at Volcanoes Stadium.

Arts, Crafts, Food & Wine Festival
At Volcanoes Stadium

Volcanoes Stadium will host an Arts, Crafts, Food & Wine Festival on May 17 and May 18 as part of the City's Annual Iris Festival Celebration. Eola Hills Wine Cellars, Orchard Heights Winery, Chateau Lorane Winery, Champagne Creek Wine Cellars, Honeywood Winery, Airlie Winery and Helvetia Vineyards head up the wineries who will be represented at the show. Noodles Delight, The Olive Branch, Red Star Bistro, Oregon Shrimp & Crab Melt, Red Lion Inns, Klassic Kettlecorn and Mr. Ice Cream headline the food vendors for the show. Juried entries have also been received in 15 different Arts and Crafts show categories including: 2-D Mixed Media, 3-D Mixed Media, Ceramics, Drawings, Functional Art, Glasswork, Graphic-Printmaking, Jewelry, Metalwork, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Watercolor, Wearable Art and Woodworking. The show will run noon to 8pm on Saturday and from 10am to 6pm on Sunday. Admission to the Festival is Free. Stadium parking is $2.00 per vehicle.

America's Baseball Camps Presents Weekend Youth Baseball Camp

America's Baseball Camps (ABC), the nationwide leader in the baseball camp industry, has selected Volcanoes Stadium to host a weekend youth baseball camp on Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25, 2003. ABC sets the standards for baseball camps with 189 locations in 24 states in the past 5 years. ABC's staff consists of current and former professional players, scouts, managers and college coaches. The camp will have two sessions for ages 6 through 10 and 11 through 18 respectively. Enrollment is limited to the first 50 children to register per session.

Ages: 6-18 Times: 1st Session Ages 6-10 (9am - 12:30pm) Open to 1st 50 Players
2nd Session Ages 11-18 (1:00pm - 4:30pm) Open to 1st 50 Players
Registration fee: $75 (space is still available!)
